Asked for money before I was even able to use the app, has a lot of paywalled content, and costs more than YouTube Premium. Doesn't seem worthwhile.

This app is my go-to for falling asleep. The stories are soothing and I love the variety of subjects and voices. I've never made it to the end of "Drifting off to Sheep" because it works every time at putting me right out.

works great, cancelling the subscription is full of dark patterns.

If I'm doing a meditation or anything longer than my phone's screen sleep timer, which is virtually every meditation. The voice and bg noise begins to glitch out and stutter every other word. Extremely annoying bug that makes me regret signing up for a year subscription.

…immediately met with needing to create an account. and I realize it's going to cost at some point. that's a no-go for me. give me something to try before making me sign up for yet another account for an app I probably won't use

The actionable tension in this batch is the value exchange: reviewers repeatedly say the subscription or account gate appears before they can establish value, while a separate billing and support cluster makes recovery difficult.

1

The value exchange is rejected at the gate, and billing recovery compounds the problem

86 of 450 reviews (19%) criticize the price, paid access, the trial or the subscription requirement; 65 are 1★. A separate cluster of 43 (10%) describes charging, cancellation or refunds; 35 are 1★.

What you can check

Questions. Anything else? Email me.

Do I need App Store Connect or Google Play Console?

No. Review Intel reads public store listings, so you need no developer account, console access or API key. The connector asks you to sign in to Review Intel with an email code; the web tool needs no account.

Can I get more than 500 reviews?

On Google Play, yes: connect Claude or Codex and it keeps collecting the next batch until the store runs out. Apple’s public feed stops earlier. No public source can promise every review ever posted.

Does it work on a competitor’s app?

Yes, and on any app with a public App Store or Google Play listing: a similar app, an adjacent one, or the workaround people use today.

The App Store gave me only a few reviews. Why?

Apple’s public review feed is unreliable. If you get 0 or about 10 reviews, try again in a minute or pick another country.

What file format do I get?

Markdown. Copy & open Claude copies it with your question, or you can copy it yourself or download the .md file. There’s no CSV, Excel or JSON export.

Is this an app review scraper?

People often call it that. Review Intel reads public written reviews from store listings. It doesn’t sign in anywhere or touch private developer-console data.

What can I ask about the reviews?

Best start

  • First useful read: the two or three things in these reviews you’d most likely miss, and why they matter.

Before you build

  • What do users wish this app did?
  • Why do people switch apps?
  • Which users does it serve badly?

Product

  • What keeps people coming back?
  • What breaks, and when do people give up?
  • Where does onboarding lose people?

Money

  • Is it the price, or when the price appears?
  • What turns a trial into a refund request?
  • What makes people feel unsafe paying?

Marketing

  • Which words do happy users use?
  • What should screenshots and ads say?
  • Which claims are safe to make?

Support

  • Where does support fail?
  • What changed across versions or dates?
